TOPIC 1: Alternative Fuels and Independence From Petroleum

“The reliance on petroleum as a primary source of energy has significant economic, social, and environmental impacts. The transition to alternative fuels, such as solar, wind, and biofuels, is crucial to reduce the global carbon footprint and achieve energy independence. However, the implementation of alternative fuel technologies faces numerous challenges, including high costs, limited infrastructure, and resistance from the petroleum industry. How can global leaders continue to support alternative fuel research and development to achieve energy independence while mitigating climate change?”

TOPIC 2: The Threat of Biodiversity Loss in Agriculture

“Modern agricultural practices have contributed to the loss of biodiversity, threatening the long-term sustainability of food production and the health of ecosystems. The use of monoculture farming, pesticides, and genetic engineering has reduced the variety and resilience of crops, while also harming pollinators and other wildlife. This committee will address the future of agriculture considering the ongoing biodiversity crisis.”
