GA 3: SOCHUM (All levels, Mid-sized)

TOPIC 1: Discriminatory Methods in Artificial Intelligence Technology

“As Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, there are growing concerns about the potential for discriminatory methods within these systems. These biases can stem from a range of factors, including the data used to train AI algorithms and the human bias that is inherent in the development and design process. Discriminatory AI can perpetuate and even amplify existing social and economic inequalities, and there is a pressing need for ethical standards and regulations to ensure that AI technology is fair and equitable for all.”

TOPIC 2: Creating Ethical Practices in Regards to Ecotourism

Ecotourism, a form of tourism that focuses on promoting environmentally responsible and sustainable travel, has the potential to benefit both the natural environment and local communities. However, the rapid growth of ecotourism has led to concerns about its impact on the environment and the potential for exploitation of local communities. This committee will address ethical and unethical practices of ecotourism to ensure that it will become truly sustainable for both the environment and local people, while minimizing negative impacts such as environmental degradation and cultural disruption.”
