I am pleased to extend an invitation for you and your delegation to join us for the 2nd annual session of Georgia Tech’s Collegiate Model United Nations conference TechMUN! As your Secretary-General, I have the distinct honor of welcoming you to participate in TechMUN II, this Spring, from April 1st to April 4th. Located in Midtown, Georgia Tech’s campus sits at the crux of Atlanta’s arts, culture, research and technology hubs, making it an exemplary backdrop to the conference, as we mimic the collaboration and innovation these different kinds of institutions practice everyday as they interact right here in Tech Square.
True to our motto of “bridging technology and diplomacy,” this intersection represents the desire to advance the human condition by connecting logic with compassion, ambition with responsibility, and creativity with collaboration. As you join us this April, we encourage you to consider how your ideas engage with the world around them, and the unique contributions that only your intersectional perspective brings.
As we move closer to meeting you in the Spring, our staff and secretariat pledges to provide a one-of-kind MUN experience to the circuit, bringing back our Southern hospitality and continuing to innovate what the delegate experience can be for a conference experience can be for a conference you won’t forget.

In the 21st century, space exploration has become an integral part of many countries’ scientific programs. New technology has allowed more access to the unexplored, and this means greater attention to the possibility of encountering signals with an unknown origin. Presently, the world has limited protocol on how to deal with such a momentous situation; humanity does not have a plan that would thoroughly address verification, transparency, global security, and the risk of public panic. Beyond signal detection, as technological advancements make space exploration and asteroid mining increasingly viable, states and private entities are moving ahead without a comprehensive or enforceable international legal framework.
Tuvalu is located in the South Pacific Ocean and is currently facing an existential threat. Considered a volcanic archipelago, Tuvalu consists of three reef islands and six atolls, which are ring-shaped islands encircling a lagoon. As the 4th smallest country in the world, with low-lying atolls and islands, the nation is extremely susceptible to climate change-related threats and seawater flooding during storm seasons. At the current rate, estimations suggest that 95% of the country could be completely underwater by 2100. With a small native population of approximately 11,000 Tuvaluans, the people are deeply connected to their ancestral lands and reluctant to abandon their heritage.

While the classic trailer for Minecraft may mean that metaphorically, those words are no longer just a slogan, but a reality. A dark force, lurking in the shadows since the days of the viral game's first creation, has finally revealed itself: Herobrine. Using as of yet unknown powers, they have somehow trapped the world’s most popular Minecraft Youtubers, Streamers, and Players inside the game itself and in exchange have crossed over into the real world. While Herobrine wreaks havoc in the real world, these players must navigate the dangers of the Overworld, Nether, and End to search for a way out to restore balance to the world and prevent Herobrine from seizing ultimate power.
This perfect world is a lie. But you are the liars. Truman Burbank never had a real life. He was born on camera, and the tape never stopped rolling. Every minute of his life has been recorded by thousands of cameras, viewed by millions, and all the while he had no idea that everything he lived was scripted; all of his friends and family were paid actors. But this show, this world, is starting to break.
As Truman ages, it has become harder to keep the illusion alive. People across the world protest the ethics of the show. Actors have their own lives, their own scandals. Ratings are plummeting, and writers are in a deep battle over pay with the executives. This team of actors, writers, producers, and studio executives needs to balance the demands of the staff and viewers, all the while keeping up the great illusion of Truman’s life.
