Intro

2011, The United States enters a new decade embroiled in two wars, the tail end of a global financial crisis, shifting domestic priorities, and the third year of President Obama’s first term.

Abroad, President Barack Obama and his cabinet are in the White House Situation Room, ready to issue the order to execute Operation Neptune Spear; their mission: neutralize bin Laden.

Meanwhile at home, various issues have caught the public eye. Budgetary concerns keep the government on the verge of shutdown. The expansion of bills such as the Affordable Care Act and Patriot Act concern the health and security of US citizens. The space shuttle program is expanding humanity’s reach further out into the solar system, while cyber threats continue to attack companies, citizens, and the US government itself.

Delegates must pay special attention to the order in which they handle topics, as it is this body’s priority to protect the interests of the country. Remember, the actions this body takes will have far-reaching consequences, not just for America, but for the entire world.
